TS2 Micro Ltd expands UK operation
TS2 Micro one of the largest specialist packaging & test houses in Europe has expanded their operation by building a new specialist packaging clean room. This investment was driven by the rapid expansion in business levels due to the growing demands of the Space, Civil Avionics, Automotive and Commercial Market Sectors.
In addition to the expansion of the manufacturing facility TS2 Micro have also invested in a new state of the art Credence D10 288 pin mixed signal tester. This latest acquisition was required to support the growing technical demands of TS2’s customers and to support the expanding fabless design base in the UK and Europe.

TS2 Micro Ltd announces major expansion in Norwich Facility
Due to significant growth in the industrial, space aerospace and military marketplace, TS2 announces its expansion of the plant and equipment in TS2’s Norwich facility.
Amongst the expansion plans announced in June 2007 is the creation of a new 4,500 sq ft clean room to accommodate the additional equipment and services; an increase of almost 30%.
Other additions to TS2’s Norwich facility include extra burn in ovens, additional ATE test equipment, tape and reel equipment, a frit seal furnace and a high accuracy Al and Au wedge wire bonder.
TS2 Micro announces its new Mixed Signal Test Location
As a new joint venture with Technograph Microcircuits Ltd in Portsmouth Hampshire, TS2 Micro has established a high technology mixed signal test laboratory within Technograph’s facility. This is to compliment and enhance TS2 Micro existing test facility in Norwich and its associated facility on Austin, Texas.
Complete with both static and dynamic burn in ovens the new test facility has both 8” wafer probe and auto handling capability for its Advantest tester. Plans have been laid to increase the overall test capability and capacity both here in Portsmouth and in TS2’s original test facility in Norwich.
New package emulation service available from TS2 Micro Ltd
TS2 Micro Ltd is pleased to announce the introduction of their ‘Hermes’ product emulation service. A solution for both commercial development / pre-production and obsolescence issues Hermes emulates the footprint of a number of industry standard plastic packages including SOP, TSOP, PLCC and QFN. Based on a laminate substrate with gold solderable lands on the underside the device is designed to sit on a standard site. A full range of die types may be wire bonded to the top surface and epoxy coated to provide mechanical protection and a flat surface for pick and place applications. Full electrical test is available if required.

ASC Group Europe expansion continues with the acquisition of Tru-form. Tru-form specialise in attrition management, component harvesting and other component enhancement services. The acquisition of Tru-form enhances the strength of the ASC Group Europe adding further technical expertise and enabling more exciting new product developments as they collaborate with the other group members.
